blog mail

Last month I signed up for the Blogging By Mail hosted by Stephanie from Dispensing Happiness. Some eighty-odd food bloggers from around the globe signed up to send out a package of goodies and in return, get one back from someone else on the list. I received an enormous box of Asian treats from Xuan at Gibberish in Singapore. I haven’t had the chance to do much more than nibble, but the box was completely full of a great assortment. I’m pretty sure I could come up with a three course meal including an appetizer and dessert with what she sent.

Four different kinds of noodles, including tom yam, curry, chicken saty, and “spicy fried.”
Mix for traditional steamed cakes
Butterfly cookies
Singapore chicken curry paste
Fish crackers
Black bean garlic sauce
Rice crackers
Golden Bridge pork sausages
Bak kuet teh spices
Nonya Kaya, a yogurt-like sweet caramel

Xuan was kind enough to include a few recipes and we’re looking forward to a spicy dinner one of these cold nights.
